The Kalamazoo Rod & Gun Club has a long history within the Kalamazoo area, founded in 1934 – from its original members has now grown to respectable 1500 members in 2022. The club grounds offer fantastic facilities for sport and recreational shooting and our people extend a great sense of community. Applying for membership: The membership application is available year-round. New members will be added to the club near the end of each quarter (March, June, September, and December), at a date and time determined by the board. Applicants will be required to attend an orientation session, at which time they will receive information about the club and it’s rules and regulations. They will also be provided with a Membership Handbook, their membership card, and their gate proximity card. They will also pay a $100 new member fee and membership fee ($100, prorated according to the time of year: those joining in December will pay a full year’s dues, March, 0.75%, June, 0.5%, and September 0.25%). Regardless of when a person joins, their full renewal for the following year will be due by the end of January (see below). There will be no make-up sessions; if an applicant is unable to attend the scheduled meeting, his/her name will be moved to the next scheduled orientation session.
Renewal of membership: Renewal notices are mailed in the fall, typically in late October/early November, to the address the club has on file for you. The mailing includes the waiver form which must be filled out and returned to the club along with payment, an envelope for returning the form, and a sheet of instructions. If you are paying your dues by check, the check should be payable to Kalamazoo Rod and Gun Club (KRGC) and must be mailed along with the waiver form. Due to the number of members we need to keep track of, forms and/or checks that are not mailed together will be returned to the sender. For that reason, the various bank pay services will not work; the check needs to be mailed with the form so that they arrive in the same envelope. At the current time, we are unable to accept electronic payment on-line; members wishing to pay by credit card must do so at a regular board meeting, and must have their waiver form with them.
